FINAL ROWERS ARRIVE IN THE WORLD’S TOUGHEST ROW
Monday 26th February 2024

From the five-man team HMS Oardacious, in 35 days, 4 hours 30 minutes, to married couple Danielle and Mark Jones, team For Better Oar Worse, in 73 days, 12 hours, 3 minutes, 73 days, 37 boats have arrived safely into Nelson’s Dockyard in the World’s Toughest Row. For Better Oar Worse were greeted with cheers, superyacht sirens, champagne and hugs and no doubt a huge sigh of relief from the rowers themselves and their families.

This year’s race has been an emotive one, the tragic death of Alisdair Putt, the skipper of Australian team, Aussie Old Salts, cast a pall over the race.

CEO Carsten Heron Olsen said. “The entire race is dedicated to the memory of Alisdair.”

Despite the sadness, the 2023 race has been as usual a great success, seeing courage and determination through the fleet. Will there be an Antigua team for 2024?
