SAFETY BOAT APPEAL FOR YOUTH SAILING PROGRAM October 19th 2009
Jolly Harbour Yacht Club
Jolly Harbour Yacht Club is pleased to announce 12 new beginners to their Youth Sailing Program having graduated the participants in the last session. This program offers free dinghy sailing instruction every week to Antiguan born children between the ages of 8 and 18. We are in need of a decent safety boat so we are putting out an appeal for a RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) with an outboard or better still, a Jet Boat that works. This would be ideal as its engine does not have a propeller and is safe when the children are in the water. There is a Jet Rib available to us, but, unfortunately the engine is not reliable and needs too much work to be financially viable. Perhaps someone might offer their services to revamp it? The other alternative would be if someone has a boat that they are no longer using and would be prepared to donate it. Any offers or assistance would be warmly welcomed and you can contact Pippa Pettingell at 268-722-8468 or e-mail pippapettingell@hotmail.com. Read More
