This International Women's Day, with support from The British High Commission (St. John's) and the Caribbean Union Bank Ltd., The Directorate of Gender Affairs is thrilled to be executing our "Pitch Your Business" competition, dedicated to supporting and showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit of women.

This competition aims to provide a platform for female entrepreneurs to pitch their innovative business ideas, gain valuable feedback, and compete for a cash prize to fuel their ventures' growth. The top 6 applicants will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity, passion, and vision for their businesses, while receiving constructive feedback from a panel of experienced professional during the Live pitches on March 8th, 2024, with the winner receiving $3,500XCD, while 2nd place will receive $2,000 XCD and third place will receive $1,000XCD.

Executive Director of Gender Affairs Mr. Jamie Saunders stated, "This year's theme for International Women's Day is "Count her in: Accelerating Gender Equality Through Economic Empowerment. This theme underscores a global recognition of the need to ensure that structural and systemic changes are made in relation to fostering an economic environment that women can thrive in and benefit from. The pitch your business competition being put on by DOGA is meant to contribute towards the evolving national economic environment and to catalyze increased entrepreneurship among women."

The Pitch Your Business competition is open to women who are over the age of 18, with market-ready or near-market ready startups. The deadline for submissions is 12:00PM on Thursday 29th February 2024. Finalists will be notified on Friday 1st March, 2024.
