SICKLE CELL ASSOCIATION WEEK OF ACTIVITIESWednesday 10th June 2015
The Antigua and Barbuda Sickle Cell Association will be hosting its Week of Activities from Sunday 14th June - Saturday 20th June. This year's theme is "Improving the quality of care, and enhancing service delivery for Sickle Cell Disorders".
Of major importance to the Week of Activities are:
The opening of World Sickle Cell Day at the Association's office on Friday 19th June from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Patrons will have an opportunity to tour the facilities, meet the Association’s members, connect with fellow patients, and supporters, and listen to informative talks by noted physicians and nutritionists on the disease.
Fundraising Breakfast followed by an Awareness Walk through the streets of St. John's to be held on Saturday, 20th June. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 am and will consist of (Fungi, Salt fish, Mackerel, Johnny Cakes, Ground Provisions, Spinach, Sausages). The walk will begin 9:30 am from Lions Club, Independence Avenue, Vivian Richards Street, Newgate Street, Lions Club.
We will also host a book sale and raffle in an effort to raise funds for community projects. The cost of each breakfast is EC$15.00 per plate.
