ANNUAL CPTSA FEMALE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT – DAY 2 Sunday 16th October 2011
The 10th Annual CPTSA Female Football Tournament continued on Sunday,
October 16, 2011 at the Johnsons Football Stadium with one game: Police versus Wings.
A more experienced Police struck first, 10 minutes into the first half through Vondakay Frederick.
However, the young rookie team of Wings, with just two past players, were a bit fitter and quicker and were able to keep the Police team at bay for the rest of the half.
In fact, the talented Khadijah Morris of the Wings got loose on several occasions to shoot three (3) past the Police custodian, to end the half 3-1.
The Police team return to the second half determined for revenge, but were stifled by the small size Wings, until defender Tane Codrington received a boot to the head and had to be taken off the field.
Being the better defender, it left the Wings in a more vulnerable position. It was just then that the Police was able to come back, in the dying moments, to draw the game
3 – 3, through goals by Denise Francis and Jenisen Richards.
Police got off a total of 14 shots on goal, while Wings only managed 4 chances, 3 of them being decisive.
