For everyone who has heard about the Jolly Harbour Valentine's Regatta and Rum Festival and wants a quick reference for what is happening, check out our Rum Down for the weekend ahead.
 
To date the event has been very well received by the international yachting press and excitement is building both from competitors and potential party goers in anticipation of the rum festival. Racing will take place over three days on the West Coast of Antigua and all of the parties will be held in different locations within Jolly Harbour each day.
 
On the water this exciting Regatta has something to offer for everyone - from great CSA racing classes to pursuit classes for those who take their racing a little less seriously and just want to have some fun, to a Laser Pico class which will offer exciting dinghy racing off the south beach of Jolly Harbour.  Laser Pico racing will take place on Saturday and Sunday only.  
 
No matter whether you are a sailor, a race chaser or a landlubber, we have a number of ways for you to enjoy the event:

• For any Laser Pico sailors wishing to get involved we have a deal in place with the Antigua Antigua's National Sailing Academy for a very good rate on the boats. Contact yachtclub@candw.ag to book.
• Ondeck has some single places left on board- you don't have to be a sailor to enjoy this opportunity. Three days of racing costs US$450. To book call Pete on 720-5313.
• For spectators there will be Laser Pico racing visible from South Beach in Jolly Harbour on both Saturday and Sunday
• We will be operating a Wadadli Cats Tour out of Jolly Harbour on Sunday 10th February for people wishing to chase the race on the water. The cost for this is EC$150 per person including lunch and drinks. Bookings can me be made by calling 776-6838.
• Beach Cricket will take place at South Beach (by Castaways). Anyone wishing to enter a team should contact Shonette on 764-8294.
• There will also be Speed Dating taking place at Castaways on Sunday afternoon.
• For boat owners who are not racing, Jolly Harbour Marina has a special in place offering 3 nights for the price of 2. Bookings can be made directly through the marina office on info@jhmarina.com or calling 462-6042 and quoting promo code JHVR 2013.
   
  For the Rum Festival all of the events are free entry and will involve rum!
  In brief they are:
   
• Thursday 7th February-5-8pm The Welcome Party- this party is for competitors, sponsors and invited guests only. After 8pm it is open to the public.
• Friday 8th February - 5pm until Rum and Bites - Seven rums will be showcased along with sponsors, food booths and vendors along with DJ Stiffler.
• Saturday 9th February- 5pm until English Harbour Rum and Rhythms  - Party night with DJ Nez, 1761 and headline act Tian Winter
• Sunday 10th February- 2pm until Rum on the Beach and Awards Party - Chickie Hi-Fi, Spirited Band and the Prize Giving Ceremony along with beach cricket and speed dating.
