STUDENTS OF THE VICTORY CENTER SHOOT HOOPS
Wednesday 18th April 2018

TUESDAY APRIL 17, 2018 - ST. JOHN’S, ANTIGUA:   Students of The Victory Center had quite a treat as they too got into the Jumpstart action this weekend at the JSC Sports Complex with the Digicel NBA Jumpstart Programme.

Each student got outfitted with their very own Jumpstart gear and took their chance at the hoops.  Coach Troy Justice got in the game, hosting a shoot-out competition with the students and even played the role of a human hoop for some of the shots.

“The students were really excited to be here and we are in turn appreciative that they came out today.  Sports play an important part in our everyday lives and I am happy to hear that sports is an integral part of the curriculum at the Victory Center,” remarked Coach Troy Justice.

The Victory Center is a school for children of all needs with the aim of making the Antiguan school curriculum work for every child.  Kelly Hedges, Principal of the Victory Center, said at the session, “Our goal at Victory Center is to provide opportunities for our students to be exposed to different areas of life; including sports and athletics. We are grateful to Digicel for including us in this event. We are happy to be here today to meet the coaches and the players who have been working so hard this weekend.”

Digicel is committed to nurturing and developing sports wherever they operate through grassroots initiatives like the Digicel NBA Jumpstart Programme. A multiyear partnership between Digicel and the NBA in 2015 also made Digicel the Official Communications Partner of the NBA in the region, delivering live games and extensive NBA programming to more than 25 Caribbean territories through SportsMax and the PlayGo app. Watch all the live action now in the lead up to and during the 2018 NBA Playoffs as the regular season comes to an end.
