In addition, Digicel has dispatched a large team of additional technical and operational personnel who are currently on the ground supporting the existing local Digicel technical teams to ensure that communications is restored across the island in the shortest possible time.
Some of the items loaded onto the vessel that Digicel has filled with hurricane relief and technical equipment to Dominica after the island was hit by Hurricane Irma at category five strength.
Commenting on the efforts and the devastations caused by the two major storms over the past few weeks, CEO for Digicel Caribbean and Central America. “It has been a very unfortunate period for our brothers and sisters in the islands that have been affected by both Irma and now Maria. We will continue our humanitarian efforts to help them pick up the pieces to rebuild as best they can, as soon as possible," Slowey added.
