CSA NEWSLETTER: APRIL 2017
Monday 10th April 2017

Dear CSA Members and Friends:

It’s that time of year again when we’re all deep in the Caribbean Regatta schedule.  All regattas held in the region to date this season have been a huge success and there are several more to come.  Congratulations to everyone on their successes to date and all best wishes to those with events still to come.

Don’t forget to register for the 2017 Traveller’s Trophy if you haven’t already.  All regattas you have participated in this season will be scored, even if you haven’t yet registered.  The trophy will be awarded at the final awards presentation following Antigua Sailing Week.

See you all when we come up for air in May!

Kathy Lammers

President

Over 65 teams and more than 1,000 sailors are heading to St. Barth for the eighth edition of Les Voiles de St. Barth, which offers four days of exceptional racing mixed with a healthy dose of shore-side fun over April 10-15. While some competitors are new to the event, others call this their go-to event on the Caribbean racing calendar every year, and several high-profile teams will return to Les Voiles de St. Barth with new rides in 2017.

On this latter front, sure to enthrall is the promise of Peter Cunningham chartering the newly conceived (and famously “Juan K”-designed) ClubSwan 50 Powerplay and Lloyd Thornburg trading in his three hulls for one when he puts aside his famous record-breaking trimaran, the MOD70 Phaedo^3, to enjoy a monohull experience aboard the Carkeek 40 FOMO (ex-Decision).
