When asked about what the promotion meant to her, George replied with excitement and said, “I am very proud and honoured and I am going to do my best to set an example for the young Chefs so that they understand the importance of hard work and dedication.” George is admired and highly respected by her colleagues who say that she is the heart of their kitchen. Their sentiments are echoed by General Manager Gerald Christ who said, “Lydia is such a joy to be around and she has a phenomenal work ethic that inspires other team members. Leaders like her are hard to find so we must acknowledge their accomplishments and celebrate their successes.”

The cooking skills of George have been noticed by Emmy Award winning Celebrity Chef Walter Staib who recently visited Antigua to scout for locations for his “A Taste of History” television show. Staib handpicked George to share some of her best recipes with him so that they can be showcased on his popular cooking show.

George is passionate about her craft and she takes great pleasure in ensuring that individuals enjoy the food that they consume.
