Protect Antiguan Animals With a Smile, registered March 1996, has its Animal Rescue and Re-homing Centre located in Parham and is licensed by the Dog Registration and Control Authority. PAAWS is associated with the RSPCA and is a member of the Caribbean Animal Welfare Group. Shelter Visiting hours are 10 AM – 4 PM Daily by appointment if possible.
PAAWS gives priority care to orphaned, neglected or abused animals. Ideally animals needing medical attention should be taken directly to a veterinary clinic for treatment before being presented at the shelter.
PAAWS is presently building additional kennels to be able to assist a larger number of animals at any one time. Hosted animals become socialized and familiar with a home/yard setting.
They receive their vaccinations and, if 5 months or older, are spayed/neutered before being re-homed only to safe and caring environment. At six months and older, dogs are micro-chipped according to law.
Donors are invited to support our

Individual, Family, Company, and Life PAAWS memberships are open to all. Information about Adopt-a-Dog and Kennel Sponsorship programs are also available. We would love to schedule your regular volunteer services.
The members of PAAWS Management Board give their time freely. PAAWS needs continuing and sustained support of its objectives and policies by the more caring and generous members of society and visitors.
Contributions are accepted at the shelter, in donation boxes at leading stores and resorts, and by mail or wire transfers. PAAWS Accounts are audited annually and filed at the Registrar of Companies.
