JOIN MIRAMAR SAILING FOR THE 2014 NEWPORT BERMUDA RACE

The Newport Bermuda Race is a 635-mile ocean race, much of it out of sight of land, usually lasting three to six days. It crosses a stretch of the Atlantic Ocean known for challenging weather, especially in the Gulf Stream, where there are strong currents.  

This is one of very few long distance races that is a true ocean race. Founded in 1906, the Bermuda Race is held for the 49th time in 2014, when the race starts on 20th June.

Approximately 170 boats sail the race every year. This year "Cuba Libre" will be one of those. She is one of the legendary Volvo Ocean 60 transatlantic race yachts, a Bruce Farr design and CSA rated at 1.158 in Racing Class.  She races with a maximum crew of 18 including the skipper.   

This is a fantastic opportunity to take part in this prestigious race, it is a wonderful experience and certainly one for your "Bucket List".

Newport Bermuda Race is 20th June 2014, Training starts on 17th June.
