Dreaming of owning your own home or land? Not sure how or where to start? Long-time renters and other would-be homeowners can get a head start on realizing their home ownership goals by attending the First-time Homeownership Program scheduled for this coming October.

The program is an initiative of the Property Advice Center aimed at educating prospective first-time homeowners in the process of acquiring a home or piece of land of their own. The main purpose is to help more persons get on the path to homeownership by providing participants with vital information regarding financing, documentation, eligibility requirements and other essential details. 

Homeownership is a great opportunity and a huge responsibility. For many people though, this vision is one they believe they might never achieve, especially in challenging economic times. Often, potential homeowners are uninformed and ill-prepared for what could very well be the single biggest financial investment they will make during their lifetime. However, being fully knowledgeable and educated about the process has been shown to contribute to more successful and responsible ownership, hence this initiative.

To benefit from the program, participants will be required to attend 11 interactive modules of 90 minutes each, which will feature presentations by real estate, banking, construction, insurance and other industry professionals combined with Q & A sessions along with other interesting activities. Using this information, they will then create a real-life, personalized action plan that demonstrates a thorough understanding of the homeownership process from start to finish with goals and objectives that lead to desired results.

Prospective first-time homeowners interested in this program are urged to register early.
