“A warm welcome of "Ciao bella" from host Paolo and you know you are in for another great dining experience at 'Abra'. We made a welcome return with some American friends, and enjoyed a really great meal. I started with the baby octopus drowned in red wine with black olives. They had been slow cooked, and were tender and delicious. A Canadian Black Angus filet steak cooked 'blue' followed, and was so tender that I didn't need a steak knife. I finished off with a classic tiramisu and the complimentary lemoncello was a really nice touch. Paulo also serves the warm breads with some great spreads - chicken liver pâté and garlic and herb were served last night.
The restaurant is in what looks to me like a typical Royal Navy building of the. Victorian era, with a verandah outside. The atmosphere inside is great, but if it isn't raining we always go for a verandah table.
I definitely recommend a visit go to Abra. It's a firm favourite for us, and we usually visit two or three times each holiday.”
