ITF JUNIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENT. Sunday 14th August 2011
Team Antigua arrived in St. Vincent today, the team included U18 players Shakir Elvin & D’Jeri Raymond
U14 players Noah Peters, Jevannie Ambrose and 11 year old Cordell Williams Jr.
Over 120 Junior tennis players representing 23 countries (Antigua & Barbuda, China, USA, Netherland Antilles, Mexico, Trinidad, Argentina, Greneda, Switzerland, Australia, Bahamas, St. Lucia, Barbados, Guyana, Canada, India, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Hawaii, Japan, Great Britain and host country St. Vincent & the Grenadines) at SVG ITF Junior Tennis tournament at the National Tennis Centre in Villa.
Qualifying matches commence on 20th Aug, 2011 with fourty four (44) matches to be completed before the end of day. Some of the days play will include Shakir Elvin coming up against Gustavo Gonsalez Casillas of Mexico, Noah Peters vs Chelsea Haslma of St. Vincent and Aretta Dey of Guyana, Cordell Williams jr vs Ajani Thomas of St. Lucia and Gianluc Robinson of Trinidad and Jevannie Ambrose vs Xavier Lawrence of Barbados; there are no qualifying matches for the girls U18 all players go directly to the main draw.
Both the U14 and U18 players will be contending for a spot in the singles main draw.
