7.  CLASSES
There will be no division into classes.
Boats may use any sail configuration.
8. THE START
The starting line will be a line between the Outer Channel Marker (Red & White round buoy) leading to Jolly Harbour and the nearest adjacent Green Pile marking the channel into Jolly Harbour,
This will allow competitors approaching from Falmouth & EH to start without entering Jolly Harbour.
Approximate start times will be allocated to boats entered by email to riktheskip@hotmail.com and will be communicated to all by email
These times will allow most boats to finish by about 1400, allowing safe navigation, with the sun high and behind, through the many coral heads between Palliser Reef and the anchorage at Spanish Point. Boats are advised to start close to these times.
Boats shall take their own actual time as they cross the start line, and must inform the Race Committee (who will stand by on VHF Ch 12) of their boat name and start time.
9. THE FINISH
The finishing line will be between a moored Committee Boat displaying a blue flag and Coco Point, Barbuda.
Boats finishing shall take their own time, and must communicate this time and their boat name to the race committee on Ch12 .
Elapsed time for each boat can then be calculated, and corrected times produced using CSA ratings or other as determined by the Race Committee.
10. PENALTY SYSTEM
Except for breaches of Parts 1 and 2 of the Rules, the Protest Committee may award any penalty it deems appropriate.
11.  PROTESTS AND REQUESTS FOR REDRESS
As this is a fun race it is proposed that any disputes be settled by arbitration. However, a Protest Committee will be convened should there be any contact between boats.
12. SCORING
The winner shall be the boat with the lowest corrected time.
13.  SAFETY
A boat that retires shall attempt to notify the Race Committee as soon as possible by calling on VHF channel 12, and shall use its best efforts to receive an acknowledgement
14. RADIO COMMUNICATION
The Race Committee may broadcast the following information: time checks at
thirty (30) and fifteen (15) minutes before 8.00am (the first start )
Failure of a boat to hear any notification on the VHF radio will not be grounds for redress. This changes rule 60.1(b). The Committee Boat will stand by on VHF Channel 12.
15. PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers on corrected time.
16.RESULTS
Will be announced at 6:00 pm on Saturday 15th March on the Beach at Spanish Point, Barbuda
