JHYC RECENTLY CELEBRATED ITS END OF SPRING SERIES Wednesday 20th April 2011
On Saturday, April 9, 2011, Jolly Harbour Yacht Club celebrated the end of its Spring Sailing Series. More than 70 people were in attendance, reinforcing the strength of the Jolly Harbour Yacht Club and its weekly Saturday afternoon sailing. Several new memberships were sold as new sailors were introduced to the club.
Seventeen boats were out on the water sailing in an inspiring manner to end the series, displaying their skills and sportsmanlike conduct.
The Club congratulated Tanner Jones and the crew of Blue Peter for winning under both the CSA rating rule and the club rating rule, showing that winning both can be achieved with a result crew, good training and consistent participation.
The Committee reminded everyone that the next series would be starting in the near future and that there would be a monthly mug awarded every four weeks.
A special thanks went out the Mount Gay Rum for its contribution to the event which added an extra dimension and a lot of colour.
Well done to all sailors and participants!
