JOLLY HARBOUR YACHT CLUB

The program for Jolly Harbour Yacht Club’s Antigua Valentine’s Sailing Festival 2012 is beginning to shape up.  While the schedule is still tentative, it will be something along the lines of what follows:

DAY 1: Thursday February 9th
Entrant’s registration, briefing and “Welcome Reception”.

DAY 2: Friday February 10th
First of 3 days of JHYC-style racing off Morris Bay and inside Five Islands Harbour. Three races of approximately 60 – 75 minutes duration.

DAY 3: Saturday February 11th
Repeat of Day 2 but with “Regatta Party” in the evening.

DAY 4: Sunday February 12th
Repeat of Day 3 with “Regatta Prize Giving” after racing. The Festival Team Cup will remain an element of the Regatta.

DAY 5: Monday February 13th
Day of “Fun Cruising Events” that take those cruising boats that remain after the racers have probably departed, out into the waters off Morris Bay and Five Islands for a Fun Sailing Event in the morning, followed by a sail round to a beach for a beach BBQ lunch.  This would be followed by another Fun Event that brings entrants back to Jolly harbour for an evening of rest.

DAY 6: Tuesday February 14th
The “Valentine’s Dinghy Regatta” including:
 
(1) Optimists for the juniors up to the age of 12 with kids from the entrants’ yachts, the Antigua Yacht Club Dinghy Programme and the JHYC Dinghy Programme.

(2) Lasers for adults and competent juniors.

(3) Sport 16’s for crews of four and families.
