Siboney Beach Club is looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef to direct the Salt Plage and Starfish Beach Bar kitchen operation. The successful candidate will be the first in command of the facilities and ensure high quality and consistency of dishes.
Head Chef Duties & Responsibilities
Control and direct the food preparation process and any other related activities
Develop menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings
Approving and "polishing" dishes before they reach the customer
Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
Arrange for repairs when necessary
Remedy any problems or defects
Be fully in charge of managing and training kitchen staff
Oversee the work of subordinates
Maintain records of attendance
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers
Managerial Responsibilities
Plans the activities of and schedules all food production and food/service employees to maximize productivity while minimizing labor to achieve and improve budgetary guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
Five (5) years or more Proven experience as Head Chef
Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
Outstanding communication and leadership skills
Up to date with current culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software)
Credentials in health and safety training
Degree in Culinary Science or related certification
