OPERA RETURNS TO ANTIGUA IN MARCH 2019
Monday 4th March 2019

The Antigua Opera Society is set to hosts three wonderful evenings of Opera music on March 24th, 26th and 28th.

The National Sailing Academy will host the first concert under the theme "An Opera Evening of Friendship" on Sunday, March 24th. Gates open at 6:30pm and the first performance will start at 7:30pm.

A long interval is provided in between the first and second performance in which Island Fusion will have lovely food for sale, and Premier Beverages will provide a very reasonably priced drinks bar.

Seating is limited and ticket prices are US$50/EC$135 per person. Children/young adults up to and including 15 years can join free of charge (please bring proof of age).

The second event will be a gala evening at Clarence House on Tuesday, 26th March. In this stunning, historical setting we will be experiencing Arias of Passion and Vendetta.

Travelling on to Antigua’s beautiful north coast, there will be a very magical evening of True Love at The Cove Restaurant at the Blue Waters Resort & Spa on Thursday, March 28th.

The performances at the Cove and Clarence House will have strict attendance ceilings and we hope you will book early to ensure you have your seat.

The artists will be in Antigua from March 22nd  - April 5th, with school visits and master classes in the week of 29th till the 5th.

The artists set to perform are:

  • Gianmaria Aliverta - director (Italian)
  • Elena Caccamo - mezzo soprano (Italian)
  • Olga Siemienczuk - soprano (Polish and living in Berlin)
  • Davide Tuscano - tenor (Italian)
  • Omar Kamata - baritone (Italian)
  • Marta Sulikowska - pianist (Polish).

Details on how and where to book will be posted shortly. Please do not call the locations just yet. Updates are also posted on the Antigua Opera Society Facebook page.

The Antigua Opera Society was tremendously grateful last year for the solid support from our Gold, Silver and Bronze Members. Without you we could not do what we do, and present Opera to such a wide and varied audience, as well as give Master Classes to music students and visits to schools where children hear Opera for the first time. We want to continue and do more, but can only do this with your help. Some of you have been in touch already and renewed your support, thank you so much.  May we please ask for your assistance for the charity, by renewing or becoming a new member, whether it is Gold (US$1,000), Silver (US$500), or Bronze (US$100)? To do so please email us at antiguaopera@gmail.com and we will advise you on how to do this.

We also sincerely thank you for all your many messages after the final curtain of the 2018 program. Your emails were inspiring and enjoyed by all of us and we hope you will once again join the Antigua Opera Society for this very exciting season.
