Antigua & Barbuda, St. John’s – Wishing Well Inc. and the Sunshine Home for Girls have been working together on various donations/projects, and on the job training for the young residents of the Home. When it recently became known that one of the main fundraising goals was the purchase of a vehicle, the Wishing Well Inc. team immediately came on board to assist with this undertaking.
Rather than contributing to the overall resources, the Wishing Well foundation decided to donate a brand new vehicle. It was a befitting and timely donation of a much-needed van required for the everyday transportation needs, school and mission activities of the Sunshine Home’s residents and staff.
“On behalf of Wishing Well Inc. and all of the companies behind this charitable foundation, we would like to congratulate the Salvation Army – Sunshine Home for Girls with this milestone. We also would like to thank the many persons working tirelessly to assist these young girls in providing a safe and supportive environment. We wish the Sunshine Home for Girls well in their future ventures.” Sascha Mercer, Vice President of Corporate Affairs Elite Island Resorts.
The official donation of the van took place outside of the Epicurean Fine Foods & Pharmacy on Friar's Hill Road. A representative of Wishing Well Inc. presented the key to Major, Claudette Allwood and Major, Nana Boakye-Agyemang who were accompanied by other soldiers/members of the Salvation Army and well-wishers/volunteers of the Home. The donation coincided with the week of celebrations by the Salvation Army to mark the 25th anniversary of the Home.
