ANTIGUA COMMERCIAL BANK ANNOUNCES MAJOR SPONSORSHIP OF PANORAMAThursday 8th July 2010
The Carnival Development Committee (CDC) has expressed its profound gratitude to Antigua Commercial Bank, the country's first indigenous commercial bank, for once again sponsoring the Panorama competition.
The Antigua Commercial Bank Panorama competition will be held on Thursday July 29th at Carnival City at 8:00 pm.
In a symbolic contract signing this week, the Bank and the CDC announced that the Panorama competition is once again benefitting from the support of ACB through its gold sponsorship, which means an investment in excess of $75, 000.
Minister of Culture, under whose responsibility Carnival falls, Eleston ?Dr. Paul? Adams was particularly grateful for the support of the event, which holds tremendous cultural significance for Antigua and Barbuda.
He noted that coming at a time when the economies of the region, including Antigua and Barbuda?s, are going through a rough period, the investment by Antigua Commercial Bank could not have come at a better time. Adams further praised ACB for being a steady contributor to the development of the cultural art form for over thirty years.
Chairman of the Carnival Development Committee (CDC) Vaughn Walter was also generous in his praise of the bank for coming forward once again in support of the Panorama competition at a time when sponsorship is difficult to come by because of the present economic difficulties.
Marketing and Public Relations Executive Shawn Nicholas said ACB was once again proud to be a part of Panorama. She said while the company has been a willing contributor to other aspects of Carnival, it has paid special attention to Panorama because of how important the art form was to the survival of the Antiguan culture.
ACB is established as the first and longest running indigenous commercial bank in Antigua and Barbuda, providing not only banking services, but through its Mortgage and Trust Company Ltd., is the largest indigenous provider of mortgage financing on the island.
The Bank operates two branches and two agencies and has eight Automated Teller Machines, the largest network of ATM's in Antigua and Barbuda.
