Former West Indies pacers Curtly Ambrose and Kenny Benjamin will team up for the INET Kenny Benjamin Youth Fest 2012 at Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds on Saturday, February 04 and Sunday, February 05.
Youngsters participating in the weekend’s event will have an opportunity to learn first-hand from Ambrose and Benjamin about life as a professional cricketer as well as get some tips during Master Class sessions on Saturday, February 04. Benjamin knows that the youngsters really look forward to these sessions:
“When we held the first Master class with Junior Murray at last year’s event, we found that the youngsters really enjoyed talking with us. I am really pleased that Curtly a former colleague and West Indies legend has so readily agreed to be this year’s special guest.”
The Master classes are just one session of a packed weekend that will also see the youngsters participating in the following sessions Public Speaking with Marcella Andre; Drama with Linisa George of August Rush; Nutrition with Gavin Henry; Internet Safety with INET engineers and Finance with Scotiabank.
They will also have master coaching sessions with a team of coaches led by Benjamin, Ambrose and receive fitness tips from a fitness trainer.
Benjamin adds that the information and lessons the youngsters will receive is priceless: “These workshops although fun and interactive are also giving the youngsters tools they can use beyond the field of play and hopefully take back to their schools and community. We want boys and girls to come along as this is not just about cricket – cricket is the foundation it is not the central focus, we want everyone to have fun while they are learning.”
