SPORT FISHING TOURNAMENT
The 6th Annual Francis Nunes Jr Memorial Fishing Tournament & Seafood Festival is set for this weekend, with the Captain’s Briefing happening on Friday evening and the competition set for Saturday. Grills get fired up from 2:30 pm on Saturday, and guests are in for a treat with the Seafood Festival aspect of the tournament, with favourites like Lobster, Crab, Fried Fish, Seafood pasta, rice and chowder varieties and more on the menu, along with non-seafood options. There will be several bars serving anything from coffee to rum, including the famous EC$5 bar as always. Bring the family out as there will be lots of entertainment for the kids, and watch as the boats come in and offload and weigh their catch, which will then be up for sale for EC$12 per pound.

DINING & NIGHTLIFE
Thursday evenings at Heavenly Java 2 Go feature live jazz by the Kuttin Eddge Band, featuring award winning pan player Lacu Samuel. The band starts up at 8:30 pm so come out and enjoy some great jazz as you relax on the quay.
Seafood Fridays continue each week on the lawn of Copper & Lumber Store Hotel in Nelson’s Dockyard, serving up fantastic seafood dishes in a fun and casual environment under the stars.
Cecilia’s has now reopened, offering lunch daily, except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with dinner being served on Mondays and Thursdays as well. Drop by soon for a delectable meal and look out for special events and menus.
The Tides Restaurant is reopening on Tuesday, and are inviting guests out to indulge in fantastic lunches and dinners, as well as Sunday Brunch and special themed nights.
Sugar Club hosts entertainment and special dining nights throughout the week, carrying on with the Seafood Night with Rico and the 4 Play Band live each Friday, Saturday Party Nights with DJ Purist, Caribbean Night on Mondays and 2 for 1 Steak Night each Wednesday. Join them soon for a tasty meal or a great party night!
COOKING CLASSES AT SUNSET TERRACE
Guests at Sunset Terrace can sign up for cooking classes with Chef Richard White during their stay and learn all about making unique and delicious West Indian recipes and the tips and tricks that go along with them. Classes are available twice a week for guests and once you have prepared the dishes, you take them back to enjoy your creations for yourself. SPORT SHORTS
The Hashers meet this Saturday at the eastern side of Shirley Heights, taking walkers to the Block House, then down to Galleon Beach where they will make their coastal cleanup effort on the beach there. Hikers are asked to bring along shopping or garbage bags to help with the cleanup efforts.
This Sunday is Swalings 3rd Annual Youth Soccer Tournament, taking place at the West Indies Oil pitch, featuring age categories like U10, U14 and U18. Come out to watch the action and enjoy the BBQ and drinks that will be on sale as well, raising funds for the Swalings Scholarship Programme.
This Sunday is the Antigua & Barbuda Cycling Association’s Family Fun Ride starting from Bike Plus and going to Factory Road, Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds and back to Bike Plus. Bring the whole family out to join in the ride for a day of fun and fitness, costing only EC$10 per person, including refreshments.
COMMUNITY
Join the Sugar Ridge Green Team, alongside the AHTA Scholarship recipients and students of ABHTI as they host their Coastal Cleanup Day on Johnson’s Point Beach. All volunteers joining in will receive a T-Shirt and refreshments for the morning.
There's less than a week remaining before the close of registration for the 6th Annual Homes, Families and Gardens Show, which takes place on October 6th. Sign up before September 30th to compete in categories such as Flower Garden, Fruit or Veg Garden or Landscape.
