AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF ANTIGUA RENEWS TITLE SPONSORSHIP OF THE AUA ROHRMAN FOR 2026
Thursday 16th October 2025
The AUA Rohrman is more than a race — it’s a journey for everyone. Whether it’s a former European Champion powering through the 25K trail in under two and a half hours, a family finishing hand in hand after eight and a half, a child completing their very first triathlon, or a retiree proving they’re still strong at seventy, the AUA Rohrman unites athletes of all ages and abilities in one unforgettable festival of endurance. That tradition of testing limits and celebrating community continues in 2026, as the American University of Antigua (AUA) renews its Title Sponsorship for the 12th edition.
At the official sponsorship handover, Vernon Solomon, LRCP, MSc, C.Dir., Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer (Antigua) and Director of the Emergency Medicine Training Centre & Clinical Simulations at AUA, joined Rohrman Organizing Committee Member Allison Anthony to announce the renewal.
“The AUA Rohrman reflects the very best of what sport can do — inspiring individuals to discover their potential, honoring the legacies that built it, and bringing people together from every background. For some it’s about breaking records, for others it’s about finishing their very first event, and for many it’s about community and belonging. At AUA we are proud to stand behind this event once again in 2026, ensuring that the memories of Jonathan Rohr and Andre Simon continue to inspire athletes of all ages and abilities.”
The event carries the name and spirit of Jonathan Rohr, a former AUA student and triathlete whose vision and passion gave birth to the festival in 2012. It also honors Andre Simon, another founding member whose commitment helped shape the event for years before his passing in 2023. Together, their legacies remain at the heart of the Rohrman’s mission: to bring people together through sport, resilience, and camaraderie.
Since its humble beginnings as a half-ironman triathlon, the Rohrman has expanded into a multi-sport festival unlike any other in the Caribbean. The 2026 edition will once again feature a diverse program for every type of athlete, including: ● 5K Walk/Run ● 7K, 16K, and 25K Trail Hike/Runs ● 2K and 4K Open Water Swims ● Kids Triathlons for ages 6 & under, 7–8, 9–10, 11–12, and 13–15 ● Sprint Triathlon ● Mini Triathlon ● Olympic Triathlon ● Team Triathlons
This wide range of events makes the Rohrman one of the most inclusive endurance festivals in the region — a place where world champions share the course with first-timers, where families compete together, and where Antigua’s natural beauty provides a stunning backdrop.
For 2025, the Rohrman welcomed over 280 athletes, with more than 60 international participants traveling from the United States, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada, Barbados, St. Kitts & Nevis, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Jamaica. The strong overseas turnout confirms Antigua & Barbuda’s growing status as a sports tourism hub, attracting world-class athletes like David Hauss, Aurélien Raphaël, Andrea Hewitt, and Benjamin Sanson, while also offering life-changing experiences for everyday participants.
The AUA Rohrman has grown into Antigua & Barbuda’s premier multi-sport festival, blending competition with camaraderie and showcasing the island’s breathtaking trails and pristine waters. From Winter Hill to Cade Peak, from Carlisle Bay to Morris Bay, every route tells a story of resilience and discovery. Beyond sport, the Rohrman drives economic impact, inspires local athletes, and fosters international connection. The 12th edition of the AUA Rohrman, set for April 11–12, 2026, promises another unforgettable weekend of unity, resilience, and sporting achievement, as AUA and the Rohrman Sports Association continue their partnership to elevate Antigua & Barbuda on the international sporting stage.
