NSA AND ABYMA HOST SUCCESSFUL JOINT FUNDRAISER Wednesday 19th February 2025
The National Sailing Academy (NSA) and the Antique Barbuda Yacht and Marina Association (ABYMA) celebrated a successful joint fundraiser aboard the magnificent sailing yacht Eos. The event, meticulously organized by skipper Martin Shairp and his dedicated crew, aimed to support both organizations in their mission to foster skills and opportunities within the marine industry. The fundraiser saw a remarkable US$18,500 raised to further their goals.
The festivities kicked off with a lively fun run, departing from Falmouth Harbour Marina at approximately 4:15 PM. Around 100 enthusiastic crew members and local businesses from various super yachts docked in Falmouth Harbour Marina, Nelson’s Dockyard Marina, and the Antigua Yacht Club Marina participated in this spirited event. The participants, full of energy and excitement, raced, walked, and ran along the scenic Goat Trail, making their way to Pigeon Point before returning to the marina.
As the fun run concluded, the celebration transitioned into a vibrant dock party that began at 6 PM and continued into the evening. The atmosphere was electric, with music, laughter, and camaraderie filling the air. The dock party provided an opportunity for the maritime community to come together, share stories, and celebrate the success of the fundraiser.
Special thanks to Ed Gifford for capturing the memorable moments of the evening.
The NSA and ABYMA are grateful for the tremendous support from the community and look forward to continuing their efforts to enhance the marine industry through education and opportunity.
