ADOPTACOASTLINE CLEAN-UP Tuesday 26th March 2024
Saturday March 16 at 3:00 Adoptacoastline joined forces with Ocean Trust, National Sailing Academy, Good Humans along with a powerful community of 40 volunteers who showed up from all over the island to help clean the mangroves and pull the debris from both above and below water.
They hauled out a full truck of household and marine debris plus 40 24 gallon bags.
Teams worked from kayaks pulling debris and 7 tires long sitting in the waters while
Divers snorkeled the surface to collect what was below.
One tire bin was installed on the sailing dock that NSA students will use and steward to keep their area trash free.
This season the Falmouth team of volunteers includes a strong local resident base along with marine industry crew and visitors.
Cleanups are open to everyone and can Join the Adoptacoastline WhatsApp if you want to be informed. Adoptacoastline has community groups working on 10 coastlines to encourage caretaking of nature and the waters. Keep Antigua Nice.
