JUNELLA KING HEADS TO NEWPORT THIS SUMMER Friday 28th May 2021
Sailing Instructor at the National Sailing Academy, Junella King, is heading off to Newport for the summer as part of a race crew which includes Rocco Falcone, Jules Mitchell, Vincent Anfi and Louis Bavay. All sailors from the NSA and Antigua Yacht Club, they have also raced on the Cork 1720 Spirit throughout the season.
They are lucky enough to be heading north for the summer racing season on Gunboat Arethusa and also on an IC37.
In a week when the world is inviting more women into sailing and the National Sailing Academy is hosting a Try Sail Day which already has 80 women signed up, as the sole women representative of the team, we wish Junella the best of luck and look forward to her sharing her lessons learned with women and students back in Antigua on her return.
The NSA would like to thanks Pete Townsend (The Who) and Richard Matthew for their donations of Cork 1720’s, along with Elizabeth Jordan for her persistant efforts in the development of young sailors.
