Curtis McKay, APUA Telecommunications Manager (L) and Kenny Benjamin launch INET U13s Sports Camp
INET, the only DSL Internet Service Provider in Antigua and Barbuda and Kenny Benjamin launched the INET U13S Sports Camp, which will take place during the Kenny Benjamin Youth Festival 2011, to be held on February 05 and 06 at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds.
This partnership will go beyond the two-day event as Kenny Benjamin explains: “Initially we were aiming to work with 60 youngsters from four community teams based in St. John’s, All Saints and Liberta, however, we all realized that in order for this event to grow and to involve more youngsters we will need to have more events. I am happy that INET shares this view and we will be putting on a series of mini-tournaments that will increase the number of teams from four to around eight by the time we host the 2012 Youth Festival.”
The INET U13s Sports Camp will feature workshop sessions in Public Speaking led by Barbara Arindell; Ethics and Physiology with Gavin Henry and Drama sessions with Linisa George and Zahra Airall and Internet Safety Tips with INET engineers. These sessions are open to all youngsters aged 8 to 13 and registration forms can be picked up from APUAs three Outlets in St. John’s and Cassada Gardens. Space for these sessions are limited and interested parents, guardians and teachers should contact 726 5468 and fill in the registration form before the start of the event on February 05.
And then on Sunday, February 06 four teams - Young Masters, All Saints, Liberta and Eastside Connection will be competing for the INET Trophy: “I know the youngsters are very excited about this and have been practicing really hard. We are encouraging their families, friends, school friends and communities to come out and support them. We want the youngsters to experience playing in front of a charged up audience, rallying for their team”, states Benjamin.
The second annual Kenny Benjamin Youth Festival will be held February 05 and February 06 at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds.
