ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA CELEBRATES WORLD TOURISM DAY 2024: "TOURISM AND PEACE"
Friday 27th September 2024

(St. John’s Antigua; September 26, 2024), Antigua and Barbuda proudly joins the global community in marking World Tourism Day 2024, embracing this year’s theme, "Tourism and Peace". This theme highlights the twin-island nation's dedication to promoting harmony and unity through sustainable tourism practices that not only support economic growth but also foster understanding and collaboration across borders.

With its breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and the warm hospitality of our people, Antigua and Barbuda continues to draw visitors from all corners of the world. As a peaceful destination, our islands create an environment where cultures connect, and new friendships are formed, promoting global unity.

Through continuous investment in tourism infrastructure and the promotion of responsible tourism, Antigua and Barbuda remains committed to creating a peaceful, prosperous future. Our efforts in civil aviation and transportation also make it easier for travelers to experience the unique charm of our islands year-round. Both our people and visitors continue to derive benefits from our sustainable tourism practices that will ensure a viable tourism industry for generations to come.

“We’ve cultivated a destination that feels like home to visitors from around the world,” said Hon. Charles Fernandez, Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investment. “By sharing our heritage and encouraging peaceful connections, we demonstrate that tourism isn’t just about sightseeing; it’s about building a future where unity and understanding prevail.”

As we celebrate World Tourism Day, Antigua and Barbuda reaffirms its role as a leader in sustainable tourism and a champion of peace, inviting the world to explore our beautiful shores while joining us in fostering a more united global community.
