Earth Day Field Trip--Monk's Hill
There has been a slight change in plan…The EAG’s EARTH DAY field trip on Saturday 20th April, 2013 is now destined for Monk's Hill.
Meet us near the playing field at Table Hill Gordon (directions below) at 6:30am for move-off at 6:45am. The good news is that this trip will take us on an uphill climb...up to 596 feet (almost 182 metres). The better news is, this moderate-to-difficult climb rewards us with some of the most beautiful vistas of Antigua that you will ever behold. The best news is, the descent of this loop trail is fairly easy.
For this 3 hour hike, wear sturdy shoes, bring water and, if necessary, a light snack.
DIRECTIONS: To get to Table Hill Gordon, enter Liberta and drive to the wide corner where Ya So So bakery is located on your right (if coming from St. John’s). At this point, veer off the road that would have taken you towards English Harbour by taking the road slightly left of centre. Take this road to its end at the T-junction then turn left. Stay on this road until you get to the village, Table Hill Gordon, on your right side and park at the playing field nearby. Come and enjoy Antigua's natural environment with us.
Volunteer with the EAG at Antigua Sailing Week
The EAG has joined forces with Antigua Sailing Week, National Parks Authority, Antigua and Barbuda Waste Recycling Corporation, Rubber Duck Recycling, National Solid Waste Management Authority, Themba Biofuels and Local Oils Limited to help make this annual regatta one of the most environmentally sensitive in the Caribbean.
Volunteers are needed to help man the EAG booth and to help with Lay Day activities for Antigua Sailing Week 2013. Our booth will be in operation from Saturday 27th April to Saturday 4th May. After commemorating Earth Day, come help us promote recycling at Antigua Sailing Week and draw attention to the projects and programmes of the EAG
