Cocobay Resort, a boutique Hotel in Antigua is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Operations & Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Technician, and Pastry Chef:

Pastry Chef

Responsibilities:
Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, tart, bread, chocolates etc. following traditional and modern recipes
•    Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of our guest
•    Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting
•    Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget
•    Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking
•    Supervise, train and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently
•    Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel
•    Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
•    Set daily work for staff

Requirements:
•    Minimum five years proven experience as a pastry chef, baker or relevant role
•    Great attention to detail and creativity
•    Organizing and leadership skills
•    Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
•    In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
•    Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugar free etc.)
•    Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•    Experience in chocolate tempering, custom confectionary, chocolate & sugar display work.

Operations & Maintenance Supervisor
Successful applicant will be responsible for the supervision of resort Operations & Maintenance Team and should possess:
-    Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience in Hospitality or similar industry
-    Certified training in Electrical Engineering, Plumbing, Refrigeration or HVAC
-    Relevant experience in Property, Facilities and Equipment management
-    Proven ability to implement maintenance schedules and procedures
-    Working knowledge of basic telecoms and electronic systems
-    Ability to lift, climb and bend for prolonged periods
-    Willingness to work flexible days, hours and shifts
-    Clean Police Record and valid Driver’s License

Maintenance Technician
Applicants should possess:
-    Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in Hospitality or similar industry
-    Training in Electrical Engineering, HVAC, Refrigeration or Plumbing
-    Basic knowledge of Telecoms, I.T. and Electronic equipment
-    Ability to lift, climb and bend for prolonged periods
-    Willingness to work flexible days, hours and shifts
-    Clean Police Record
