Summary of PositionThe General Manager is the primary business leader for Antigua Village, with responsibility for all aspects of the operation, including homeowner, guest and employee satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, property management and sales and revenue generation. The role involves ensuring the implementation of the service strategy to meet or exceed guest expectations and increase profit and market share. The General Manager is also responsible for leveraging marketing tools and presenting proactive sales ideas to the Board to generate demand. - 8 years of experience as a hotel General Manager or equivalent experience.
OR - 15 years of progressive experience in management operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, or a related professional area.
Preferred: - General Manager experience in a limited or full-service property with over 100 beds, ideally with a mixed business model (timeshare and home ownership).

- Business and marketing acumen, financial control, and proactive management.
- Working knowledge of financial/accounting procedures.

- Understanding of hotel management and marketing systems.
- Proven excellence in customer service and employee relations.
Key Responsibilities- Business Strategy: Stay current with industry trends, monitor competition, and develop business plans to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability, and market share.
- Sales and Marketing: Work with sales and marketing resources to develop revenue-generating strategies and identify new business leads to present to the Board of Directors.
- Talent Management: Create a high-performance management team, coach them to improve, and develop learning opportunities for employees.
- Financial Analysis: Review business data, such as market share and financial performance, to proactively address changing market conditions and ensure the property operates within budget.
- Employee & Labor Relations: Ensure all employees are treated fairly and with respect, foster an environment of open communication, and verify that pay and benefits are appropriate for the labor market; ensures policies, processes and employee review systems are legally compliant and completed on a timely basis; and ensures that union contracts are adhered to.
- Owner Relations: Build rapport with property owners through proactive communication and balance the interests of the owners with those of Antigua Village; develops and effectively promotes ideas for improving property service and profitability.
- Revenue Management: Work with the Board and the finance committee to develop effective/competitive pricing strategies and identify ways to grow occupancy, RevPAR, and market share.
- Customer and Public Relations: Interact with guests to get feedback, address service failures, and establish a positive presence in the market; establishes presence in the market by actively promoting an exemplary property/brand, involving oneself in the local community and by developing strategic alliances with local officials, businesses and customers; anticipates the needs of large groups or high profile guests in order to deliver flawless service.
- Compliance: Ensure the property complies with legal, safety, operations, and labor standards. Conduct regular walk-throughs to ensure the property is well-maintained and safe.
About Antigua VillageAntigua Village Beach Resort is a unique condominium resort build on a 4 acre beachfront site comprised of a mix of 94 Villas, 1 bedroom Suites and Studio apartments. The resort includes a combination of timeshare apartments and privately owned properties. The organization is structured into six departments, and is guided by a Board of Directors.
