ANTIGUA CARNIVAL

The Carnival Development Committee wishes to advise the general public of the NEW dates for the 2012  Wadadli Beer Calypso Monarch Quarterfinals slated for Friday 13, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 July.

The first round of the elimination process will take place over the course of three days. Admission is $20 nightly. Artistes attached to Golden Eye Revue are up first, on Friday, July 13. The starting time is 8:30 pm. Swallow's Calypso Pepperpot comes alive with competition on Saturday, July 14, at 8:30 pm. The Carnival Development Committee (CDC) will host the final leg, at Palms Restaurant (formerly Barrymore Hotel), on Sunday, July 15 for artistes not attached to the two tents. The starting time is 6.30pm. Calypsonians competing at the CDC Tent are reminded about the ongoing rehearsals daily at 6 pm. Musical scores are required.
 
The eighteen (18) calypsonians who get the judges' nod will advance to the Semifinals, scheduled for Sunday, July 22. Nine (9) calypsonians will be selected from the penultimate round to go up against the reigning monarch, Keithroy "De Bear" Morson.  The Wadadli Beer Calypso Monarch Finals will be held on Sunday, August 5, at Carnival City.
