In a dazzling night of beauty, culture, and pageantry, Kia Kirwan emerged victorious as the 2025 Queen of Carnival at the Antigua Recreation Ground, also known as Carnival City. Under the radiant theme, “Celestial – Illuminate, Inspire, Reign,” the competition brought together five talented contestants, each representing a sponsor and vying for the coveted crown that celebrates national pride and cultural excellence.
Kia Kirwan, representing ACB Caribbean, returned to the stage with renewed determination after her previous attempt at the Miss Antigua & Barbuda title in 2018. Her resilience paid off handsomely as she swept both the Swimwear and Evening Wear categories and was also named Ms. Photogenic, an accolade driven by public votes. Her performance captivated both judges and spectators, marking her as a standout from the start.

The title of 1st Runner-Up went to Abigail Piper, who competed as Miss Boardwalk Casino. Piper delivered a powerful showing, earning top honors for Best Interview, Best Performing Talent, and the coveted People’s Choice Award, highlighting her poise, eloquence, and audience appeal. Her dynamic presence on stage solidified her status as a fan favorite throughout the competition.
Danijah Simon, representing Furniture Gallery, was named 2nd Runner-Up and also received the award for Best in Costume, thanks to a striking and creatively executed presentation. She was further honored as Ms. Congeniality, a testament to her warmth, kindness, and camaraderie with fellow contestants—a spirit that captured the essence of Carnival’s unity and celebration.

Special awards added to the festive atmosphere. Asheila Pluck, known as Miss Port Authority, took home the Celestial Award, which recognized her unique charisma and audience connection. Meanwhile, Kaaliyah Guiste, sponsored by Masonry Products, gave a proud showing and completed the lineup of contestants in this competitive and graceful pageant.
Community recognition poured in after the event, with Minister of Creative Industries and Innovation, Daryll Matthew, publicly celebrating Danijah Simon’s performance and her embodiment of resilience and community spirit. Social media was abuzz with congratulations and cheers, including messages like, “True queen—fight for her crown!” and “Congratulations to all. A job well done, Kia.”
As the curtains closed on the glittering show, the message was clear: this year’s contestants did not just compete—they inspired. Kia Kirwan’s victory is a story of redemption, poise, and excellence, embodying everything the Celestial theme called for. Antigua & Barbuda can now look forward to a Carnival season lit by her reign.
