ANTIGUA CARNIVAL

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Wednesday 19th June 2019 (St. John’s, Antiguaa). On Wednesday 19th June, Minister with responsibility for National Festivals, Honourable Daryll Matthew shook hands with Kevin Alexander, Caribbean Sales and Marketing Representative of Antigua Distillery Ltd., showing appreciation for the company’s continued effort to support Antigua’s Carnival.

As a proud partner of the Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission (ABFC), Alexander announced that this year, the company opted to sponsor Antigua’s Carnival with three of the brands under its portfolio. As a result, three events during the festivities have been rebranded. These include English Harbour Rum T-shirt Mas, OASIS Water Junior Carnival and Cavalier Rum Carnival Monday.

In addition to this, as a boost to further promote Antigua’s Carnival, the company also engaged in the production of Antigua Carnival labels for its OASIS 350ml and 650ml water bottles, which are currently in distribution throughout the island.

During his remarks, Alexander stated that “The success of our Carnival is everyone’s business, which is why we decided to make it our business to pledge our continued support to the Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission and Antigua’s Carnival – The Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Festival”

In response, Carnival Minister, the Honourable Daryll Matthew expressed his profound gratitude to the management of the Antigua Distillery Ltd., for their commitment to Antigua’s Carnival.

The Minister also added, “The Antigua Distillery Ltd. has always been a good partner to the Festivals Commission and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda. For several years, the company has played a significant role in assisting us in marketing Carnival in Antigua and Barbuda and abroad. Currently, a partnership arrangement, through the English Harbour brand, is in place for Hollywood Carnival, where Antigua’s Carnival gains significant exposure. Starting last year, the ABFC also received tremendous support from Antigua Distillery Ltd. to cover the cost of a delegation to be a part of the popular Uber Soca Cruise (USC). This USC experience gave the ABFC a great opportunity to market Antigua’s Carnival extensively to a captive audience”.

Antigua’s Carnival 2019 officially commences on Thursday 25th July. The English Harbour Rum T-shirt Mas will be staged on Saturday 27th July; the OASIS Water Junior Carnival on Sunday 28th July, and the Cavalier Rum Carnival Monday on Monday 5th August.
