IWC GOLF FOR EDUCATION TOURNAMENT SUITS SCOTIABANK TO A TEE! Thursday 29th August 2013
The 2013 IWC Golf for Education Tournament is on course for another successful fundraiser, as SCOTIABANK has stepped up to the plate for the second straight year as a Headline Sponsor. This year, the bank has generously increased its sponsorship from Bronze to Silver, will team up on the greens at Cedar Valley November 16, donate the golf balls for the tournament, and sponsor one of the 18 holes on the course.
“The core aim of the IWC Golf for Education Tournament is very much in alignment with Scotiabank’s Bright Future Programme,” says Gordon Julien, Country Manager for Scotiabank Antigua, “so we are very happy to partner with this organization in this very important venture.”

The Bright Future Programme, Scotiabank’s global philanthropic vision, brings together the passions of its employees, the insight of its partners, and the spirit of its communities. As a prominent financial institution on a global level, Scotiabank’s financial reach has provided a unique opportunity to give hope to youth by supporting education, arts, culture and the environment, as well as helping the underprivileged and abused.
“At last year’s Tournament, with help from Scotiabank, Virgin Atlantic Airways, the Cedar Valley Golf Club, numerous other sponsors and donors (corporate as well as private), we raised over thirty thousand dollars, which allowed us to award forty thousand dollars in scholarships to seven Antiguan women from varying socio-economic backgrounds and academic aspirations,” according to Cath White, the Secretary of the IWC who is also the Golf For Education Tournament organizer.
This year, the IWC hopes to organize the biggest ever “Red Letter Day for Education” Charity Golf Tournament and is calling on previous sponsors as well as new ones to step up and provide cash assistance, hole sponsorships, prizes for our Grand Auction, merchandise, and of course, teams of golfers to join in the fun on this special day, Saturday, November 16 at the Cedar Valley Golf Club.
