INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S CLUB

Applications are now available for the International Women’s Club annual scholarship programme, which awards grants to Antiguan & Barbudan women pursuing tertiary education in the Caribbean.

Each year, the International Women’s Club of Antigua & Barbuda gives out approximately $30,000 in grants to women of Antiguan nationality who are taking coursework in the fields of nursing, pharmacy, x-ray technician, education and economic development, excluding legal and accounting.  

To receive a scholarship, coursework, including on-line degrees, must be pursued in institutions located in Antigua and Barbuda or within the Caribbean. The scholarship is meant to act as a supplemental award to assist in the cost of tuition or other opportunity costs associated with higher education.  Funds will be distributed directly to the institution or school.  Awards in the past have ranged from $500EC to $8,000EC. 

Applicants can receive a maximum of two awards in separate years.  Recipients are expected to return to Antigua upon completion of their studies and apply what they have learned toward the betterment of the nation.

Deadline for receipt of completed applications is 8 May, 2015. By then, applicants will need to secure and complete the IWC application form and submit it along with two academic letters of reference, a one-page typewritten essay, the last two official academic transcripts, the institution’s letter of acceptance including course fees, and a passport-sized photo. 

Applicants will be contacted for an interview upon receipt of completed applications.  All applications are confidential and become property of the International Women’s Club.
