ROCKS GROUP CELEBRATES 15 YEARS WITH MAJOR WEST COAST EXPANSION
Wednesday 5th November 2025
Antigua’s award-winning Rocks Group is celebrating a landmark year with the 15th birthday of Sheer Rocks, the island’s most iconic dining destination, alongside the launch of two exciting new concepts on the west coast: Fat Urchin, a playful modern public house and coastal kitchen, and Roca, a premium pantry, butcher, and wine cellar opening later this year.
Fifteen years ago, Sheer Rocks began as a small cliffside restaurant overlooking Ffryes Beach. Today, it stands as a regional icon, recently named “Best Restaurant in the Caribbean” three times, and remains the beating heart of the Rocks Group story. To mark its milestone anniversary, Sheer Rocks has unveiled a fresh rebrand and refined menu, celebrating the ingredients, people, and philosophy that built its legacy.
“Sheer Rocks was where it all began; the foundation of everything we’ve become,” says Alex Grimley, founder and CEO of Rocks Group. “This year isn’t just about celebrating our past; it’s about the next 15 years. New ideas, new energy, and new experiences.”
The updated Sheer Rocks menu brings a modern evolution to its “philosophy on a plate” ethos, championing local produce, sustainability, and flavour-forward simplicity. The group is celebrating the milestone this November with a special tasting dinner event, an iconic edition of Music on the Rocks with guest DJs, and an exclusive rewind menu, bringing back 2010 tapas favourites with 2010 pricing!
Fat Urchin: Good Food. Bad Behaviour.
Just down the coast at Jolly Harbour Marina, Rocks Group is preparing to open Fat Urchin, a cheeky and nostalgic twist on the classic fish and chip shop. Equal parts pub, chippy, and seaside hangout, Fat Urchin captures the spirit of Antigua’s fishing heritage with a bold, tongue-in-cheek personality. Expect craft cocktails, fried-to-perfection seafood, witty branding, and late-night fun.
Roca: Curated Living, the Rocks Way
Completing the trio of launches is Roca, Rocks Group’s newest concept at Sugar Ridge - a modern pantry, deli, butcher, bakery, and wine cellar designed for everyday indulgence. Roca blends European sensibility with Caribbean flair, offering everything from in-house dry-aged Dedham Vale beef and imported charcuterie to house-made breads, pastries, and Rocks Group’s own coffee, created in collaboration with local roasters Carib Bean. A stunning walk-in wine room will showcase global vintages, and curated tastings will spotlight boutique producers and sustainable brands, including purpose-driven partnerships like Who Gives A Crap, a brand that turns toilet paper into global good by donating half its profits to sanitation projects. A West Coast Renaissance Together, Sheer Rocks, Fat Urchin, and Roca represent a powerful evolution for Rocks Group, transforming Antigua’s west coast into the island’s most vibrant culinary corridor. From cliffside dining to marina public house bites and a lifestyle-led food market, each concept captures a different side of the Rocks ethos: exceptional food, creative energy, and unforgettable experiences.
Rocks Group now operates four restaurants, a growing retail and events division, and employs over 100 staff across Antigua. With the continued expansion of its hospitality portfolio, the group remains focused on what started it all; community, creativity, and the pursuit of joy through food.
