THE VARNISHING CAPITAL OF THE WORLD
With over 10 years of operation as a body registered under the Antigua and Barbuda Marine Association (ABMA), yacht workers within the framework of the Antigua and Barbuda Yacht Workers Association guarantee quality services, consistent standards and security for the vessels on which they provide their services while in Antigua.
Founded on February 14, 2009, the Antigua & Barbuda Yacht Workers Association (ABYWA) has a pool of 150 professionals who are identified by the Association’s issued identification card. The ID card bears the name of the professional, his job title, a photo and the Association for which he or she operates.
The members of the ABWYA operate in the English and Falmouth Harbour areas.
Collaboration with marinas has also been forged and upon entering the docks the ID card of the ABYWA is presented for verification. To this end, the ABYWA is receiving positive feedback on the extra security initiative, and members are servicing new and returning yachts from all around the world.
Among the services rendered by members of the Association are:
- Yacht cleaning
- Painting
- Varnishing
- Fibreglass work
- Repairs
- Gel coat repairs
The experience and services provided to customers in the yacht repair industry has transcended borders. Antigua & Barbuda is now dubbed “the Varnishing Capital of the World.”
The ABYWA delivers approved repair services to customers, which are designed to suit the specific job and craft at all times. The members of the Association who operate from Falmouth and English Harbours also have the capability of repairing large vessels on site at marinas, helping customers to get back on the water in a timely manner.
