Curtain Bluff – an award-winning Relais & Chateaux hotel, is an elegant island luxury resort, which is welcoming, inviting, and blends timeless seaside elegance with “toes in the sand” charm. We are currently looking for a suitable and qualified candidate for the following position:

Executive Sous Chef

The Executive Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing the entire culinary operation for the restaurants. They will work directly with and in the absence of the Executive Chef to maintain and improve the culinary operations including providing support and guidance to the culinary team, ending in a positive guest experience. This individual will be responsible for working within and maintaining budgets, ensuring adherence to the resort standards while ensuring owner and guest satisfaction as well as they will help grow our culture through guiding our teams and taking genuine care and interest in them and the well-being of our guests.

Position Requirements

• Establish and implement policies and procedures in line with the objectives of the hotel
• Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction through excellent service by addressing and resolving guest issues or complaints promptly
• Prepare budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure profitability
• Coordinate marketing and promotional activities to increase visibility and increase occupancy
• Conduct regular inspections of the resort to ensure all facilities and services are in excellent condition
• Interact with guests to gather feedback and improve services
• Coordinate and oversee events, entertainment and guest activities

Position Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Culinary Arts
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a luxury resort as an Executive Sous Chef
• Ability to work flexible hours especially on holidays and weekends
• Proven ability to manage budgets and financial performance
• Experience working in independent properties would be an asset
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
• Exceptional knowledge and understanding of industry best practices, relevant laws and guidelines, and safety standards
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
