WILLIAMS ADVANCES TO THE SINGLES QUARTERFINALS Wednesday 29th August 2012
After completing his win on August 28th over Kobe James (TRI) in his final round robin match, Cordell Williams Jr. had another successful win defeating Adriel Bousquet (LCA) 6-2, 6-1.
This win secured Cordell Jr's spot in the boys’ singles quarterfinals where he will come up against Ukpioronofo Ikolo (GRN) in his bid for a semi-finals spot.
As the tournament continues today, we will see more match play from team Antigua both in the boys’ main draw and consolation draw where Justice Christopher secured the No. 2 spot.
Development by its very nature is the improvement we see in our junior athletes over a period of time.
Losses will come, but it is what the athlete takes away from competitions such as these will determine the improvements we see in years to come.
We continue to thank the National Olympic Committee who understands development and was willing to stand with the Antigua & Barbuda Tennis Association in ensuring these athletes were able to compete in the 13 & Under Caribbean Development Championships for 2012.
