JODY MAGINLEY EARNS HIS 1ST ATP RANKING POINTS Friday 26th June 2015
Herbert Jody Maginley earned his first ATP( Association of Tennis Professionals) ranking points as he continues to advance in the Manzanilla Mexico F8 Futures.
Antigua's #1 national player, Jody as he is more affectionately called, along with his doubles partner John Lamble of California USA advanced to the doubles finals at the Manzanilla Mexico F8 Futures. Maginley/Lamble secured their main draw doubles spot after a team withdrew from the competition and it has bean a steady road to the finals.
In the 1st round match the doubles duo of Maginley/Lamble ousted the #2 seed Lucas Gomez (Mex) Jorge Panta (Per) 6-2, 6-2 advancing them to the quarterfinals.
In the doubles quarterfinals, the doubles duo did not look back as they soon defeated Ivan Endara (Ecu) Alejandro Mendoza(Bol) 6-2, 6-4 securing their semi finals spot. Maginley/Lamble continue to forge ahead with a mission leaving Felipe Mantilla (Col) Alejandro Moreno Figuera (Mex) in the wind defeating them 7-5, 6-4.
We congratulate Jody and his double partner in this feat as they prepare to battle for their first ATP title.
