ITF JAMAICA JUNIOR TOURNAMENT KICKS OFF Monday 16th July 2012
D’Jeri Raymond had another successful run in her second match today; Raymond came up against Jamaican Shaeda Nickle whom she met last year at the Caribbean Development Championships defeating her 6-3, 7-5. Raymond moves on to the next round both in singles and doubles. The low turn out in the girls U14 competition has caused the tournament officials to change the format of the competition, Raymond will play a total of four (4) singles competitions fighting for a position in the girls finals.
The Under 18 main draw competition will commence on Monday July 16th, where Jody Maginley and The Carib Seas sponsored Kyle Joseph will start their first round competition.
These juniors have worked extremely hard in their respective camps to achieve as much as they have and we continue to encourage and support them. We also thank the people who have helped them financially, because without them none of this would be possible.
The Wilson Cup team was sponsored by Caribbean Union Bank who help with preparation and all travel expenses, and Wilson and their agent Heritage Sports for providing apparel for duration of the tournament.
The ITF Jamaica team would like to thank their families for their support, support also came on board.
For Kyle Joseph by way of Carib Seas who came on board to make this opportunity possible. We trust that our juniors will endeavour to do their best as the official start of this tournament commences on July 16th, 2012.
