The Halcyon Tennis Club Men’s Singles competition started on Friday evening with
some of the more popular Men’s competitors like Junior Benette the #1 seed and the #2 seed Peter "Wiffo demus" Quinn. It was the first of its kind with the Club aiming to host more evening matches under the lights of the Halcyon Tennis courts.
Tournament was played in a round robin format with an upset in the semi finals round of the competition- Kelly Gordon Defeating Peter Wiffo Demus Quinn to earn his spot in the finals.
Benette earned his spot in the finals after ousting Otis Williams in the semi finals round.
Due to a rain delay on Saturday evening the finals was played today (Sunday 1st July) with Kelly Gordon and Junior Bennett taking to the courts. The match was taken in straight sets by Bennett who overcame Gordon to win the competition 6-1, 6-2.
