JR. ORANGE BOWL DAY 1 QUALIFIERS Wednesday 14th December 2011
Key Biscayne, Florida - Qualifying rounds of the prestigious Grade A tournament, Jr. Orange Bowl commenced today. This tournament is celebrating 50 years in their committment to the sport. Jr. Orange bowl brings together the world's best 14 & under and 12 & under players, with this years record of 1325 entrants from 75 countries including 40 US states.
The Junior Orange Bowl International Tennis Championship has a rich history of attracting the world’s most promising young tennis players to Coral Gables. Past participants of the Junior Orange Bowl Tennis Championship include 2002 U14 winner and 2009 US open winner Juan Martin Del Potro. Other professional players who have played are, Andy Roddick, Caroline Wozniacki, Justine Henin,Kim Clijsters, Andre Agassi, Monica Seles, Chris Evert, and Jim Courier.
Competing for Antigua & Barbuda is Noah Peters ranked #26 in (Cotecc) and D'Jeri Raymond ranked #1 in (Cotecc) 14 & under division and #1535 in (ITF) 18 & under division.
Peters commenced play today in the qualifying round of girls U14 which has a current draw of 256 junior players-only 16 players will qualify.
