West Indian Cricketer, Fast Bowler, Gavin Tonge returned home yesterday afternoon to a VIP Welcome at the Sir V C Bird International Airport.
On hand to welcome Gavin were his close family members including his parents as well as:
Mr. Enoch Lewis - President, Antigua Cricket Association,
Mr. Gregory Shillingford - President, Leeward Islands Cricket Association
Mr. Evans Jones - Assistant Director, Sports, Office of the Minister of State: Sports, Local Government and Special Projects
Mrs. Anne Jonas - Coordinator Planning and Project Management, Office of the Minister of State: Sports, Local Government and Special Projects.
Gavin, who hails from the Village of Bethesda arrived on a British Airways flight having completed his tour with the West Indies Cricket Team in Perth, Australia.
The dignitaries all welcomed back Gavin and commended him for his hard work and subsequent selection to the West Indies Team.
Apologies were made on behalf of the Minister of State, Senator, Hon. Winston Williams who was in attendance at the funeral of Mr. George Goodwin, former Chairman of the Antigua World Cup Inc.
