APPLICATIONS FOR UNAIDS SPECIAL YOUTH PROGRAMME (SYP). Monday 25th January 2010
The Programme was established in 2008 and consists of a 5 month fellowship at UNAIDS Geneva followed by a 4 month fellowship at the UNAIDS country office which serves the fellow’s country of origin. The objective of the Programme is to help engage young people from countries served by UNAIDS, in policy development and programming and building their capacity and leadership skills to contribute to the global AIDS response. The attached TOR provides more detailed information.
The UNAIDS 2009 fellows are from Malaysia, Nigeria, Zambia and Zimbabwe, and are currently carrying out the country office part of the fellowship. In 2010, UNAIDS will recruit 3 fellows for the SYP, and young people living with HIV are encouraged to apply. In this regard, if you know personally of individuals who you think would be good for the Programme, please encourage them to apply using the UNAIDS on-line recruitment system detailed in the attached document. The application deadline is 12 February and we hope to have the fellows on board by May 2010.
