Caribbean countries ranked higher in the list included: Puerto Rico (15), Dominican Republic (17), United States Virgin Islands (51), Bahamas (59), Cuba (60), and Jamaica (68).

However, Antigua and Barbuda had a higher ranking than its Lesser Antilles, and other Caribbean, contenders in the list, namely: British Virgin Islands (92), Barbados (97),

St. Vincent and the Grenadines (100), Bermuda (109), Guyana (110), Suriname (118), Cayman Islands (121), and Trinidad and Tobago (143).
The President of ABBA, Daryll Matthew, is quite pleased that National Senior Men’s Team was able to capture such a high worldwide ranking, and is very optimistic that the team will be ranked even higher, after next year’s Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Senior Men’s Tournament to be held in June 2018. The team captured the bronze medal the last time they competed in this competition held in Tortola in 2015.
