OVERVIEW
News went on the friendly match between Venezuela and Spain. From the beginning of the day there was wide coverage with detailed information about the logistics, security, players and some aspects related to the game. 
After the end of the game, the first comments of some private media showed their support to the visiting team rather than the home team. Headlines such as “Spain shows its power in Puerto La Cruz” (Eluniversal.com), or “Spain crushed Venezuela easily” (El-nacional.com), let us see the attitude private media has always shown.   
 
CONTENTS
FRIENDLY MATCH VENEZUELA – SPAIN
The Spanish team closed season 2010-2011 with a victory over Venezuela 3-0, in a friendly match that accounted goals to David Villa, Pedro Rodriguez and Xabi Alonso. Vicente del Bosque allowed Manu del Moral (Getafe forward, just signed by Sevilla F.C.) to debut in this match. Del Moral arrived to meet on the field with his partner from Getafe, the Venezuelan Miku. (Noticias 24 / EFE)
The Bolivarian Government handed out for free more than 3,500 tickets for the friendly match Venezuela – Spain. The tickets were given to 11 refuges from the northern area of Anzoategui state, and to 40 local football clubs of public schools. (AVN) 
Vice-minister of Prevention and Citizen Security, General Nestor Reverol, repeated that seven thousand security agents were spread around the Olympic Stadium “Jose Antonio de Anzoategui” for the game between Venezuela and Spain. (Correo del Orinoco) 
Minister for Sports set giants screens in strategic sites, such as Plaza Venezuela and the cycle track “Teo Capriles”, in La Vega – Caracas; El Saman – Guarenas, Plaza Bolivar – Valencia and the locality “Cuatricentenario” – Maracaibo. OLYMPIC GAMES 2012
One of the topics handled by the English ambassador in Caracas, Catherine Nettleton, and the president of the National Assembly, Fernando Soto Rojas, was performance of the Venezuelan athletes at the Olympic Games London 2012, in a meeting held this Tuesday. According to the diplomatic office head, the United Kingdom is working closely to the Ministry of the People’s Power for Sports and the Venezuela Olympic Committee, to guarantee Venezuelan athletes a positive experience in London”. PENITENTIARY SPORTS
About 5 thousand inmates of the country will benefit from the National Program of Penitentiary Sport, through which they are expected to become active and not temporary athletes. This information was given by the sports coordinator of the National Division of Penitentiary Service, Johan Garcia, during the first meeting of people in change of promoting sports activities in prisons around the country. INTER-REFUGE GAMES
People from 836 refuges for families affected by heavy rains last December in Venezuela will participate in national sports games, planned to begin next June 18th. This information was given by the Vice-minister for Physical Activity, Sports and Recreation, Jose Alejandro Teran, during a visit to the temporary refuge located in the Inces, in Puerto La Cruz. Vice-minister of Prevention and Citizen Security, General Nestor Reverol, was also in the visit. (AVN)
 
HUNTING SPORTS
Members of the national team: Breien Papa (youth), Luis Luciani (super veteran) and Angelo Papa (senior AA) won in their respective categories in the IV leg of the National Championship of Hunting Sports (Reca), held recently in the firing range of Maracay, Aragua state. This group of winners, along with Manuel Tamayo – also third place in senior AA –, Roberto Di Mauro, Alexander Da Silva, Marco Añez and Aldo Adami, will represent Venezuela in the 2011 Latin American Grand Prix of Hunting Sports in Viña del Mar, Chile, as well as in the championship and finals of the Latin America Sporting Cup in Curitiba, Brazil. AQUATIC SPORTS
Six Venezuelan divers will defend the national tricolor in the Grand Prix of Italy, to be held from 10 to 12 June in Bolzano. The South American youth champion, Maria Florencia Betancourt, heads the national squad for this tournament and she expects to show her skills in the individual 3m springboard and in the synchronized platform along with Lisette Ramirez. BOXING
Venezuelan Jean Piero Perez, acting flyweight Champion of the World Boxing Association, settled himself in Mendoza, Argentina, where this Friday he will defend for the first time the belt against Argentinian Juan Carlos Reveco, at stadium Vicente Polimeni of Las Heras. “Finally and thanks God, we are in Mendoza to face Juan Carlos Reveco, a very experienced fighter, that is why we have prepared very well to keep the title”, said Perez upon his arrival, together with his team, Francisco “Tolete” Arroyo and Rafael Pedroza and Dr. Lucio Lam Mejias. About 100 boxers from differents places of Venezuela will gather from today at the Coliseo “Cotorrera” to participate in the Cadet National Championships. The program started this Tuesday at 7:00 a.m. with the weight sessions of participants. The technical meeting will be today at 11:00 a.m. and the opening ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. (Noticias al Día)
The organization Street Olympic Boxing will hold next Saturday 11th a program of 15 fights in the zone Hornos de Cal, of San Agustin parish in Caracas, where musical group Madera and Ramón Navarro, sports leader of the community, will be honored. (AVN)  
 
VOLLEYBALL
The national team that will go to the Pan American Games of Guadalajara will go through a renewal process without “Harry” Gomez, who announced via Twitter that he had been called to be informed he would not be part of the national team. To this regard, the Venezuela Volleyball Federation said that the preliminary team is under the guidance of the Cuban coach Gilberto Herrera and he “decides who gets in and who go out of the team”, said Alejandro Terenzani, spokesperson of the federation. BASKETBALL
The first stage of the Professional Basketball League post-season started last night with Cocodrilos of Caracas beating 95-71 Gigantes of Guayana. 
In the Forum of Valencia, the host Trotamundos of Carabobo crushed 92-70 Bucaneros of La Guaira. (El Universal)
 
FOOTBALL
According to Press Trust of India (PTI), Argentina’s national team announced that they will play a friendly game against Venezuela in India next 2 September, in order to promote the sport in the region. “The Argentina Football Association”  (AFA) signed a contract in order to bring a high-quality team, including Messi and Carlos Tevez, among others”, said Bhaskar Goswami, from the Celebrity Management Group, in declarations to the PTI. “The contract guarantees their participation” in the game.
